    Oil filter issue!

If you're taking the 90 off, get the canton oil base plate. Worked great.

    Oil filter issue!

Look at it closely, when I peeled mine off, it was like a neoprene gasket and it was shaped like a steering wheel. center gasket and outer gasket were hooked together by three spokes. couldn't hardly tell it was there. Make sure it isn't still stuck on there when you put it back together.

So, after removing, thoroughly cleaning, prepping and installing with new gasket, with a light tacky coat of permatex, sum ***** is still leaking!! Bought a canton plate, going to install it tonight. Ugh, Sigh!!!

    Oil filter issue!

Of course not! I should have read through the post before I installed it. I did a dry fit and there was no wobble, sat good so I assume the center did not make contact before the sides! I need to pay more attention. I apologize for the late response, spent most of the day monkeying around. I'll...

    Oil filter issue!

Yes, I never pulled the base plate when I put the 90 on. Not sure I was supposed to. I think from taking the filter fitting off, installing the 90, then taking it back off and putting the filter fitting back on, the gasket must have broken it's seal? Fortunately, I had gasket in the parts box...

    Oil filter issue!

Never had the plate out. Just removed the pipe nipple and installed the 90. How does that plate come out? I wonder if the gasket under that came dislodged?

    Oil filter issue!

did I forget something?? 318, out of a 78 aspen. Put a rack and pinion in my 66 dart. Was going to put dougs headers in but didn't like the fit. So, went back to stock exhaust. I had a 90 degree filter adapter in and it had a small leak. Took it off since I went back to stock exhaust. The car...

Approximate Cost to Buld 375-400hp 360?

I'm not sure anyone will warranty an engine. Just make sure you find a reputable builder. Pays to do your homework

    what carb for 340

I believe the formula is CI MULTIPLIED BY MAX RPM DIVIDED BY .3456 Puts you around a 550 cfm. I think that's right? Based on 5500 RPM. I think you can multiply up by ten percent for inefficiency? I have a 360 .030 over with an air gap and a 650 runs on it perfect

The 360 is in, but I have a few questions.....

Sorry, I should have read your post better. I have power steering.

The 360 is in, but I have a few questions.....

When I put the 360 in my 71 dart, we set the headers and "collapsed" them as the engine went in. REAL TIGHT FIT!! As for the steering joint, I had that problem as well, I have hooker 1 7/8 and didn't want to bash them so I put on a flaming river steering knuckle. Easy to do and works great. As...

Noob question on separating block / tranny

I've yet to see an index mark, granted I've only done three. When the engine is in and the tranny is in place, not a good time to find out the hard way. Anyway, doesn't hurt to put a spot of silver paint on the tc and the ear it unbolted from! I don't doubt there's an index mark, if you could...

Noob question on separating block / tranny

I believe that's correct. Make sure you mark the flex plate and torque converter, they are mated a certain way.

360-2.02 valves Fit a 318 block with no clearance issues?

Does this sound like a good combo? Got the motor with the car so I haven't run it yet. I do want to put it on a run stand to break in the cam and make sure the rear seal isn't a leaker. Just curious what you folks think about the build. Has a 600 AVS and stock exhaust. The engine is a stock...

    Power steering pulley

you need to get a pulley install tool, very easy to use. Basically works the same, only in reverse. A lot of times on engine replacements, you may not have the stock pump for that car and the brackets will be different. I had to move the shroud to get the pulley on mine. Good luck
