What's The Deal With The Mopar Mini Starters?

@RustyRatRod I ran into a situation recently with a mini starter that wouldn't allways engage, I made a hemi to 727 adapter on my mill, and figured I screwed up the spacing, but I took it to my local alternator/starter rebuilder, he said there are a few different drives for those, and sometimes...

Where can I hook up an electric choke?

I am just explaining how "I" do it, it can be done various ways as mentioned. There is voltage as soon as engine builds oil pressure.

Where can I hook up an electric choke?

I never said it couldn't, I said the pressure switch is a better idea. If you hook to ballast, it will have power anytime key is on running or not.

Where can I hook up an electric choke?

The oil pressure sending unit is a pressure switch...it's not a "5 volt" circuit... one lug gets grounded when there is NO oil pressure, that turns on the light... the other 2 terminals are "normally open" and become "closed" when there IS oil pressure....you put 12 volts fused to one side, the...

    Electric choke source

Listen, the 3 prong oil pressure switch method is the same one chrysler used....it also PREVENTS heating up the choke coil if switch is on, and engine not running. Something none of the other methods account for

    What Wire Covering?

Summit has some pretty nice braided split loom, looks way better than the plastic stuff, it's available in various sizes, I like it alot, needs no tape either

My first mopar "stranded" moment with the HEI setup

As a shop owner, I have replaced LOTS of gm modules over the years, and in comparison the mopar ecu in my truck is orginal, so it's 37 years old.... The main issue, is a lack of quality replacement parts, but this is a issue for ALL brands. Now, you wanna start a ****-storm, just tell someone...

How do you Convert HEI to Mopar

You do realize, that changing the module itself, can change the timing without ever touching the distributor, correct? Again, I aint saying its a bad swap

How do you Convert HEI to Mopar

RRR is right on, its about cheaper replacement parts, and parts that are more avalible at your local parts store. If your factory system is in GOOD working order, you WILL NOT see the idle change seen in those two vids. THAT change is the result of adjusting the inital timing. Its not a bad...

Where can I hook up an electric choke?

Why even bother with the blue wire at all?
  24. replicaracer43

Where can I hook up an electric choke?

Get a three prong oil pressure sending unit from your local NAPA store, run a fused 12v feed off the the battery or at the heavy lug on the starter solenoid to one of the the "normally open" lugs on the sending unit. Run a wire from the other "normally open" lug directly to the choke. Easy...
