There are many rebuilding companies in the US, if they didn't work when rebuilt these guys wouldn't be in business. Get a good kit from Holley and some carb cleaner, and use an air compressor to blow out all the passages real good, not a real hard carb to rebuild. Bruce

Got mine at autozone, take the number off the front of he carb, down at the base. You need to soak the carb in cleaner, you will have to have another bigger container for the cleaner as the carb won't fit in the cleaner can,wash off with water then blow dry all passages with compressor. Take...

I think you can use the other line for a return but the supply line might be a little small for that engine, might want to upgrade to a 3/8 or 1/2 supply line.Bruce

I agree with manual choke, here in So TX one good pump and it fires and runs fine,we have alot more humidity here and in FL than CA, don't know if that make a difference or not but I don't have a problem with the manual. Bruce

Thanks for the info, just looked back through the rebuild book and the later carbs (75 and later)didn't have a leak problem, as they used different plugs. Mine is off an 86, but I will still take it off and check it. The book says to drill and tap for plugs as epoxy will eventually come loose...

I recently rebuilt my Q-jet and all is good expect it drains overnight making for hard starting in the morning. New float with rebuild, not set right, bad needle seat? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless Bruce
