    '69 Dodge Dart GTS

Got most of the filler on and blocked then the first coat of primer down. Passenger side turned out a little better in my eyes but nothing more blocking won't fix.

Man he shoots some beautiful pictures around town. Last night storm brought him to town once again. From His Facebook post Lots more storm images to share today, and instead of spreading them out I figured I'd just share them at once in a couple posts. I'll have another one tonight that...

    Any benefit to 10” wheel?

I’m curious as to why it’s better. Is it because you are actually using the sidewall as tread or the change in sidewall angle might make the sidewall less rigid vertically? It must take a higher tire pressure?

    360 vs 383

Profoundly deep subject. My thoughts on the matter, and I’m open to changing that. Not a big fan of the 360, it just doesn’t have the small block characteristics of the 340 or teener. The mighty memorable 340, save those for the restoration crowd. My small block choice is the plentiful teener...

    360 vs 383

Right, but in the end, if you have a Duster, you still have to install the engine and hook up the headers (and header choices)... and in this area the 360 is a mile ahead.

    360 vs 383

This is my first small block and i honestly find pretty much everything easier on a BB... timing cover, oil pan.. water pump. intake.. dist... everything.

    360 vs 383

But on the line of mechanics and ease of work'n on them, if we just look on top....... the 383 intake swap is a marvel compared to the small block, as the 383 has no coolant through the intake, less bolts, and the gasket can be re-used right in place. Also, distributor swapping/tuning on the...

Got a new Truck (new to me)

Did a keyed start wire > to trigger full 12 volts to ignition coil feed circuit by way of the relay. Keeps the load off the ignition switch/circuit, and full 12 volt power to the e-coil. (12 volts, not 7 volts like the ballast resistor ignitions). Green wire is the feed wire to the e-coil...

    Any benefit to 10” wheel?

Yes. If you have room, and have the right backspace, those tires will like the 10" rim much more than an 8.5. I have heard of 275s on 12s and 14s on small tire no prep street racers. I have 315 et radial pros on 12s, but I have a car with room for an 18" section on a 15x14 rim.

    360 vs 383

That would be a lot of what vehicle the engine is in. For sure, the small block with Doug headers will be an orbit or two away easier than a BB with headers in a A-body.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Always, these storms get brutal at times, thankfully I live up on the ridge where they go over or around and fallow the flat lands, just hope my oak trees are ready for it around here.

    360 vs 383

Yes but a stock sbm weight is considered acceptable handling wise, so if a modded big block weighs similar to that should be acceptable also, now if building something like an auto cross car then the benefit of even less weight can be an advantage.

    Any benefit to 10” wheel?

Id assume the contact patch would be better since you'd be pushing the section width out.

Solid rollers with off set push rod hole issue.

They do appear to be getting plenty of oil, but I am concerned about how close the intake pushrods are to the lifter bore wall with the offset lifter. That's got to be creating a bunch of side load on the lifter. On the 72 Dart I had previous I was running W2 heads with a solid roller cam, but...

Torque is basically how much fuel and air can be stuffed into each power stroke.

    360 vs 383

Not sure the 383 will get to 700 hp for the same cost a 360 gets to 500 hp, others may be able to speak to that.

    [FOR SALE] Blower motor

Have a blower motor out of a 68 barracuda, it has been bench tested and it does spin freely. It is missing one of the ends on the wiring and here are the part numbers on it 3441 409 42166 1931. I am asking $35 plus shipping from 61469 Illinois.

    360 vs 383

360 obviously a very capable engine not knocking it. But you could easily build a 600-700+ hp bbm for similar money and work as a 450-550hp sbm.
  29. DionR

    360 vs 383

Won't the 383 always weight more than the 360 if they both have the same advantages of aluminum parts? The 383 has wider bore centers, taller deck and skirted block. Just more cast iron. Not saying it makes a huge difference, but it sure seems like the 383 will always weight more.
