    Water Pump Differences

I was looking at water pumps for my dad's very mild 360 and noticed the auto parts store sells a 6-blade pump and an 8-blade pump. Which is the one to get? I'd assume the 8-blade moves more water. Is that true? Is one for A/C cars and one for non-A/C cars? Thanks!

    Cooling Issue

I'm having trouble keeping my 340 cool when stopped at a light. It runs right at and doesn't get above 190* while cruising, but will creep up steadily to 210, 220 and further etc while stopped. I have a 22" champion 3-row radiator with sealed factory shroud and 17" clutch fan with Hayden...

    Coolant Recovery Tank Volume?

Anyone know what volume recovery tank is needed for use with a 22"" radiator? I'm adding one to my cooling system. Do they require a different cap than what came with my 22" Champion Radiator? Thanks

    A/C vacuum switch

I tried bench testing an original A/C switch like the one in the picture below. When I apply vacuum to the vacuum port with all other plugged, there is an obvious leak in all button positions. I'm sure the leak is small, but I'd assume the engine would not like it. How tight are these...

    Heater Hose Plumbing

Does anyone know how the heater hoses on a 68 Dart with AC are plumbed? The diagram in the FSM isn't very clear. I think the passenger side heater core hose barb goes to the water valve then fitting on the intake manifold and the DS barb goes straight to the water pump. Is that correct??

    Stupid AC/heater control question

I've got a 68 Dart dash I'm trying to put back together. Does the AC/Heater control unit mount from the front side, or the back? I put it in from the backside, and the whole unit seems to sag a bit making the buttons hard to push with the bezel installed. Thanks!

    A/C vacuum switch

I'm in the process of re-doing my a/c heater box with new door foams, seals and whatnot. I've also modified the A/C portion of the blower box to eliminate the A/C while still providing a functional heater and defroster. My question relates to the switch that directs the vacuum source to the...

    What is this for???

Does anyone know what this "air tube" is for? Does it attach to anything? This is on a 68 Dart with AC. I'm in the process of modifying my AC box to eliminate the AC portion so I'll only have a heater and defroster and am wondering if I need to keep this air tube or if I can eliminate it...

    What type of foam?

I'm rebuilding a heater box but don't need every seal and foam sheet in the "heater box foam kit" that DMT has for $80. So, I've decided to make the couple of charcoal foam door sheets I need. Do any of you know what type of foam is used for the internal door in a heater box? I'm assuming...

    A/C Heater Box Modification?

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm wondering if an AC heater box can be used for just a heater/defroster. I pulled the heater box this weekend in my 68 Dart AC car thinking I'd get rid of it and patch the holes on the firewall. At first, I was going to cut the vent side off and...

    Removal of A/C-heater box?

I'm considering removing the A/C heater box out of my 68 Dart. I never use the heater as the car is just a fair weather hot rod and the A/C components are loooong gone. Can I remove the box under the dash and cap the hole for the PS fresh air vent, heater motor, heater hoses, AC lines, etc...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

Just thought some of you folks would want to know- I emailed Hayden to see if they offer an HD fan clutch with a shorter 'jag' style shaft. Apparently they've been looking into this because they've gotten plenty of inquiries from Mopar folks, since their commonly used 2765 jag clutch isn't...

    Coolant filter

Do any of you guys run a coolant filter to keep junk out of the radiator? What do you use? I've heard of some guys using a shot glass to form a screen filter than just sliding that over the inlet to the radiator and sliding the hose over to help keep junk out of their radiator.

What does this mean? Radiator question

    Lower Radiator Hose Question

I've got a 68 Dart with 340 and 22" radiator. I just bought a Dayco C70352 lower radiator hose and it seems too long (not the 'cut-to-length ends, but the middle straight section). Are there different part numbers for hoses for a bodies with 22" radiator vs those with 26" radiators? Also...
