Is there a general rule of thumb to tell or give one a close approximation on times in the quarter given the 1/8 th mile time? Example= 1/8 th mile time is 7 seconds. Do you add 50%( being 3.5 seconds) to the 7 and coming up with a total of 10.5 seconds for the 1/4 time would you be close? Or what is a close formula. Just curious. I know what a 10 second car is (1/4) but cant get a feel for 1/8 translated to 1/4. Any ideas? I understand the cars all may be different.

well i tried the formula and it put the 1/4 mile time within 2 hundreds of my actual 1/4 mile time.. so it should be good for a ball park estimate
