Big New Shock at the Pump Forecast by Two Analysts

My oldest son lives in the Netherlands and he said last time he filled up it was 1.50 euros/liter. 1.50 euro converts to $2.35 and a liter is approximately a quart. 4 qts to a gal so doing the math he's paying about $9.20 a gal. Pretty common throughout Europe

well, i'll quit drinking beer and drive a little less in that car. but i won't sell the cuda. i don't have a mortgage or kids so i am ok in that department.

I just changed my duster over to disc brakes and 83/4,LBPall new tie rod ends. New rear springs and t-bars for the new engine and transmission. With gas going the way it is I am rethinking just what kind of engine can I aford to drive often? The slant 6 is going to be run this summer but I think now small block stroker is out maybe just 318 in the plan for next year. Gas is too expensive for a car driven alot. I know alot of cars around here only get used a couple times a summer due to price of gas. I don't want to join that club.

Gas was $3.89 for regular at my local station this morning.

I was planning on going to the track a bunch of times this year, but with the round trip being 230 miles from my house, and my truck getting around 230 miles on a tank of gas (while towing), it'd cost me $160 just to get there and back. Then I'd need to add the price of tolls, entry fees, food, etc. What used to be a $150 day would be a $250 day now... So that's out.

I'm even considering buying my wife a new car so I can drive her Mitsubishi to work instead of the Ram. It'd probably be cheaper for me in the long run.

That sucks.

i have been thinking about buying a car that gets 35 mpg for the majority of my driving. Realized that i will spend about 10% of my income on gas this year between my dakota, the dart and gas for the boat to ski.

i had to leave my balls and pride in my truck when i walked into a honda dealer yesterday

That is crazy. I am reconsidering using a duster as my daily driver...even though my dad has his heart set on me using it as one. With me being a teen still and working at a job that I couldn't get 10$ an hour, I would spend all my money on gas :(.

i remember watching Glenn Beck a couple weeks ago and a guy from the government who retired was on his show and said within the next 10 yrs americas economy will be close to a depression if nothing happens. being only 19, i dont have much to survive on except my hard work and skills.

$$$5.60 per gallon in New Brunswick, $1.239 per litre regular gas, that is. Usually goes up by $0.03 a week
$1.50 per litre is predicted before the summer is over---$6.80per gal

Ten years ago I could drive to the drag strip and back for 6 dollars.:-D
Know I can't even mow my yard for 6 dollars worth of gas.:angry7:

I probably could've too, but then again the strip was only about half an hour from my house.
