I’ll second that! I’ve been curious if the earlier closed chamber 2.08/1.74 heads were the basis of the later 915 heads. My engine is a date change def 1963 reman but is still factory marked as high performance 361. The cylinder head casting numbers match, except one has an X cast after the end (I’m assuming as a marker for heat treatment stress relief), while the other doesn’t. If anything ever lets go in it, the crank and heads will happily find there way to a 400 block.

My younger brother in my 1971 picture above (#36) will be 60 years old in December. Some time in the mid-70s, Dad picked up a 4-speed and 3.23 sure grip rear from a Road Runner and asked me to put it in for him. So I did. Tried using the Road Runner clutch pedals at first, but then got the clutch/brake pedals from a junkyard 62 Dodge with a three on the tree, and got it all sorted out. The Road Runner 23 spline 4-speed was later replaced with a Hemi/440 18 spline 4-speed. Not sure if my brother still has this car, as we haven't spoken in years.

Those look like the door panels I redid in your car. Originally the chrome did not separate the red and white. I did mine to hide the seams. As seen in the picture . My two tone wheel was a hard find I bought the white 4 door for the dash and steering wheel and it had all the windlace. plus extra due to a four door.

Our 62's door panel trim is original. Don't remember who re-did the door panels and seats, but they did a good job. The seat backs were redone with the original cut-pile carpet. Floor carpet was replaced with loop pile.

You guys are gonna screw around and get Steve interested in getting another 62/63!!

We were just offered a 63 plymouth Max wedge car. We know many Max wedge owners that we do engines for. We have a Max wedge engine and now a Hemi. We are out of room at the new shop. And I have to finish my Demon and Duster that have been on the back burner for some time now. I get frustrated when ever I think of the Duster.

I lost interest in the Duster when a member offered me fenders and I waited and waited on his way and waited and waited some more. Gave him my Vin for the V24 registry , one year later with the car on a rotisserie still no fenders . Even offered to pick them up. . No he was bringing them down. Thanks bballfan1 . **** the Duster I'll build a chassis car to match the Demon with a glass nose. Another V24 car gone.

You had me going for a while with your promises. That is why you are no longer welcome here. I will never answer your calls and if you or your buddy come here I'll throw you off the patch. good luck finding a grille or any other parts. I saw your want ad. I sold you many parts for your dads car. Your bullshit tease got pretty deep with the fenders.

Screw me once shame on you, Screw me twice shames on me. You cut off your nose to spite your face.

All I can say is thanks Mike.

Now that's a sad site!

It could be a 63 . Its a

You feel better now?
Thing is, I didn't want to involve the seller. I was pissed and bitchin. Im unfamiliar with early blocks and thought there was differences in cranks, etc.
You want to blast me, pm me, you had no info to help so , no need to chat in here imo.
See any inconsistency in your posts? You suggest that others should PM you rather than publicly fault you (in the post you started), but you didn't PM the seller to address buyer-remorse concerns, despite them being a forum member. Rather, you started a post fussing about things that worry you, but didn't check before buying or even after.

The block is a fine year, perhaps even superior. You can bolt any heads to it you want, such as after-market aluminum ones. Ditto for the water pump housing. I didn't see where your question about mounting to the K-frame were answered. Haven't been there, but expect K-frames for BB engines differed and are rare since BB A-bodies were very rare. There may be adapter brackets.

Back to the 62 383 question.
Think that's the change over year from 361 to 383.

Same block casting different bore size.
All 383's are the same, steel crank blah, blah, blah.

But the heads are the things that change all through the years.
Early 516 heads have different exhaust port sizes, some small, some BIG!

Very flat intake port and then along comes the 915 in 1967, well its the bees knees!
Every thing else after (and before) in iron wedge head is scrap metal (except MW of course).

You can stroke it, but for me a low deck stroker has to be a 400!
Find a 230 block and its a 1000hp all day long.

Avatar Dart had 1200hp with a factory 230 block...:mob:

BTW:

The Gentleman PAID $400.00 for the shortblock and all
related accessories.

It was AS IS and unknown condition, but the bores looked
great and the motor presented as low mileage and .040 over.

It was one of the parts I am selling for my close friend
Gregg (TriCity Performance) who passed.

I am not making a PENNY on any of his stuff!
