1963 Dodge Dart 270 Convertible for the Wife

-
Also installed the bumper.... wow that place in Tucson did an OUTSTANDING job on that bumper, it is flawless. I spent a lot of time researching trim clips. These clips will handle most of the trim. There are smaller ones I have that will work for the trim around the bumper ends (that is at the shop getting polished) and the GT front valance trim.

Lastly a little trunk eye candy. Spare tire cover, trunk mat and wiring harness installed.

Hey where’d you get your trunk mat? I’ve got a ‘64 without a trunk mat and not sure where to get one

More gymnastics to get it together. Finished up the front steering, torqued and cotter pins installed.... nice and safe for the wife now.... Got a SB oil tube and will cut it off to the right length, if I can ever find someone who knows it.... Lots and lots of small details done and she is bolted up for good!

WOW!!! Ahhhhh-mazing

Wow that so cool. I wish I had my 69 Sport Convertible Ragtop from highschool.
I drove this in the summer (back then) and had a '69 Barracuda fastback for the cold weather (detroit)... I found myself driving the Barracuda more as it had a mid 70's 360 in it, that was then replaced by a '71 340 4 speed, 4:10 posi. FUN!!!

The Satellite had 4.10s it with a 383. Fine for central NY (and yes FUN) but in Az with 50 miles of 65-75 to get to town not as fun! The Dart has 3.23s and that is even pushing it in the interstate at 75/80. It is wound up really good. The other cars have 2.94s which are nice to just roll.

Finally have the thing running sweet and stopping almost as good..... Some new old stock parts for the oil pressure light and brake cylinders a 17.6lb spring in the fuel pump for the textbook fuel pressure and a mix and match of front brake parts that finally work nicely together. Also made the fuel lines look not so Rube Goldberg'y....

Snow last Monday/Tuesday but convertible weather for lunch today...

The 3.23 is even high for the slant 6?

Pretty car :-D

BTW, where did you find, or find someone who could fix, the front chrome trim below the grille, that runs between the turn signals. Mine is dinged like crazy and no one seems to know what to do with it.

I found one on eBay.... they are in the path of all flying junk so they get beat up....

I just had a chrome shop polish ours. Sure it has pits but if it shines you never notice. They can rechrome the end pieces and acid clean the waffle center grill.
I had the ends of mine re-plated, it's was the waffle center, upper, lower retainer bars I was thinking of. I like your solution and will look into the acid clean. Thanks again.

I am lost and confused... I don't have any parts for any cars in transit for the weekend..... am I approaching "done"?
