1965 Barracuda Resto from Germany

-
Hey Uli. I just happened on to your thread and i must say i'm very impressed with your effort and forward motion on your project. Gotta hand it to ya on your energy and focus in the continual effort toward your project. Good news for ya. I do have in my field a 65 Barracuda that has many good parts still left on it. I may not have everything but let me know what you need and we'll see if it's still there. I'f it's there i'm sure we will arrive at a very reasonable price that you will like. Let me know. I like helping people that will help themselves.

The radio walks in the glove compartment, and it becomes a radio with USB connection.

I hope you understand what I mean

Great build! I have a 65 too, a Dart wagon, I have my radio in the glove box too and have been thinking of doing the same thing with the ashtray. Right now I have to open the glove box and plug in the aux cable every time I want to use my iPod. I was thinking of putting in a dock in the ashtray, then just pull out the iPod and close the tray when I leave the car.

Again great build, keep it up, I wish I had the energy you seem to have!

Tim

Looking good, you think you're gonna use an original style gas cap or use a 68 Charger cap like a few of us have done?

Wow, looking great Uli!

Did that stuff get there yet??? Hopefully Customs is going to leave some for you. :-D Keep up the good work!

Despite following the Customs rules and regulations to the letter, my US Postal Service priority mail box with your goodies was returned to me today covered with stickers and stamps all written in German. I have no idea why it apparently got close to you and was then returned Uli, but I'm upset that it didn't get to your place. Your address has a big "X" across it so maybe I got the information wrong ... but I used the same address from the box you sent to me so it's a mystery.

My Postmaster is at lunch right now (eating a quick sandwich myself) but I'll try and find out what happened later this afternoon. If nothing else, I hope I can get my $37 back but I'd rather the stuff had gotten to you instead. It's not much of a surprise this way. I'm really sorry Uli. :-(

I'll keep you all posted on what I find out.

and again a small step as long as the coachbuilder not just yet I do small parts.

All those small parts eventually turn into a car ... it's looking great! I'd like to learn more about that Branthon Korrux (never heard of it before); it's a neat finish with that gun metal gray look.

* * *

I found out why my gift package was returned from Germany. Besides some parts for your car, I also loaded you up with some American food, one of which was a very popular spiced beef stick called a "Slim Jim."

My postmaster looked in her book of international mailing regulations and discovered that Germany requires a "meat importer's license" to allow meat products to be imported. There was also a list inside the box from Customs that said it was being returned because they didn't recognize some of the other foods I included ... peanut butter cheese crackers, a pecan log, some M&Ms, bunch of other snack foods ... but I think it was the Slim Jim and the Fig Newton cookies because meat and fruit are specifically shown on the list.

I screwed up by not looking into it better before I tried to send you the big box. But it won't happen next time. Even though you could send me some German food, I can't do the same for you Uli, so you'll just have to munch on the left over car parts instead. :-D

I'll let you know when it's on the way again. Sorry it's taken so long.

DRENO, you are TOO FUNNY!!! Thanks for a great laugh and lightening up my outlook ... considering the whole situation, I needed one. As the saying goes, I could go postal on somebody right about now.

Ok i am understood German mailing regulations for Food psssssssssssstttt so a **** !
