we've been busy
after the past pic we stripped the whole garage and took the dart out and also took the quarters out of the box and taped them on the car to get them out of the way.
our other summer project was my "garage" a 36x20 enclosed carport that I bought.
I was thinking of buying one for a while now but they were $5,000 new and I just needed that money for my dart.
I was searching craigslist about a week after giving up and found one an hour away, that was already up for 3 winters, a really heavy duty one and it had a skylight!!!
I ended up buying it for $1,800 and we took in down in one day....... it didn't go up in one though, we bought the tent in July and between racing and other things we just got it finished last month.. lol
I used it at first as just a "throw in all my junk" storage place until it became closer to winter. We went down the road to a rock and stone place and bought 720 sq. ft of gravel/stone to put down on the for a floor.
Luckly my dad caught that bill.
I then put my 1967 dart all the way to the left back of my tent on a tarp and in front of it is our 1966 coronet gasser.
Today we went to home depot and autozone and I bought a shelf for some parts and two car covers and I just got back inside from covering the cars up and getting the shelf up.
I know this has nothing to do with my dart but I figured I needed a explination of why I have not been working on my dart.
the plan for this winter is.
Next week we are going to go buy a good mig welder, cart and everything
we are going to weld up all the small patches and do the wheel tubs and trunk floor and then it is going to the body shop to have the quarters put on and finished and the doors and trunk also.
when it comes back we are going to be mocking up all my front and rear suspension that I will be ordering pretty soon and it will be rolling and we will mock up rims and tires and also the engine and then it will come out and hopefully the shell will we gone to paint by April
