After a long delay, back at it again!! But first a question. Does anyone have a fix for a rear trunklid that won't stay up on a fastback?? I've got mine adjusted as much as it will go ( I think). Seems like the coil spring is weak.

, but just barely stays open.

Here's ours Jim, we havent done any adjustments on it. Prev owner did a great job on the car.
It looks like ours(pic of pass side) has a slightly different position. With yours the bolt with washer is dead flush on the hinge. On ours it sits approx 1/4" down?
Hope this helps. I can take more pics/measure if needed.

Unrelated to the tension, noticed your arm is completely different design than mine.

That's very interesting..

Here is a pic of mine and they look exactly like Steve's on his 67

Mine is a 68 and these are the originals. I am the only person to ever disassemble the car , original paint on them so the hinges have been there since new.

A long way from factory original, but I solved the saggy decklid issue!! I installed a 24 lb gas strut to add support for the lid!!!

Going backwards again!!! Since I have a Holley fuel level sender (for the fuel injection tank) I bought a MeterMatch module to calibrate the sender to the fuel gauge. I've been adding fuel in small measured amounts and adjusting the module to ensure the gauge was close to actual fuel quantity (not fuel level).
Got the tank filled to full capacity and then saw a drip drip from the rubber grommet where the filler tube enters the tank!!!! Grrrr.
Now will have to drain the tank, remove it again and find out why it is leaking there

Yeah its not easy the way the fuel tube snakes down under the rear floor panel. These unexpected problems are situation normal every car project. Always happens no matter how careful how skilled you are **** happens. This hobby is not for the weak character ppl.....

I've been doing some research before I drain the fuel tank to see why it is leaking. I was really ticked when a brand new grommet seal leaked!! However I think it was my screwup. I'm pretty sure I installed p/n 3404182 which I thought was an "improved design", but in reality it is not correct for a '69 Cuda!!! (It is correct for a '70 B Body and 70-74 E Body) I should have got p/n 2880481. The groove diameter where it seals with the tank opening is significantly different between the 2 grommets. The tank opening (from 2 old tanks) measured ~2.27" and ~2.3".
I ordered a 2880481 repro, which turned out to be a made in China part. Not surprised. Dimensions don't seem to be correct. Made from a shiny plasticy material. Will not use it.
I'm going to get one from DMT, which is probably a far better quality with correct dimensions. Mopar A Body 67-76, B Body 64-69, 71-74 B Fuel Gas Tank Grommet 2203472 2880481
Unfortunatly, DMT does not ship to Canada, so will have to drive to my shipping depot in Port Huron to get it
