Hello all!

Since I joined I have not introduced myself or my project! My name is Adam, I'm 26 and I live in the Puget Sound area of Washington. My project is one Canadian built, Dark Gold 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger, originally a 225 Slant Six/3 on the Tree A/C car. Now, since last year I began building the car to my liking. First thing I did was I did a v8 emgine swap. I pulled a 1985 Plymouth Cop Car 318 v8 and A999 automatic tranny and cleaned those up. I had the torque converter rebuilt and installed a shift kit in the valve body. Next, I changed out the manual steering box for a Slant six powersteering unit. To put the engine in the car I kept the Slant6 k-member and used a Trans-Dapt motor mount kit for 340-360 blocks. I had to narrow the left side mount to work with the 318 ears. Other than that modification the engine and transmission bolted perfectly into the car with no other modifications. I used the original transmission crossmember that was in the dart and it lined up. The driveline did NOT need to be shortened either. Next, I installed a 1967 Dodge Dart steering column and 1967 Barracuda Dash in the car as well. I made my own adaptor harness to work with the 67 dash and column. For the shifter I bought freshened 67 shift linkage and it bolted right in. For exhaust manifolds I'm using 1974 Plymouth Scamp manifolds. For Ignition Im using a ready run distributor woth a 65k volt coil. For intake, an edelbrock performer intake with an edelbrock 1403 carb. Kickdown linkage is a lokar cable. In addition to everything else, I was able to find old mopar parts to dress the engine, with old anodized mopar valve covers, blue silicone mopar hoses, and mopar performance sparkplug wires by Taylor. I also have an 8.25 a-body rearend with sure grip that will go under the car with 15x7s in the rear and Ill leave the 14s up front. The radiator is a B-Body aluminum radiator. I still have lots of work a head of me but I wanted to share my progress with FABO and try to help the best I can with swaps!

Thank you!

Here is the link for the radiator I bought on ebay. Its advertised as a 22". I needed to add the top holes for mounting to the core support but it fits great! Also im using an external oil cooler for the tranny because my lines didn't work with the bungs on the radiator. They're quite small for my transmission, however mine is a heavy duty a999 so im not sure about that.

My first car was a 72 dart 4 door in the same color as yours. Its really a nice looking color. Mine had the ugly cream interior.

Welcome, Brother from northern Puget Sound(Lynnwood). Nice ride! this place is the bomb for A body knowledge. Fire away with questions.

wow, you are what they call around here a "whippersnapper"

nice dart
