I am putting a four barrel on my 72 D100. I removed the 2 barrel intake and when I dry fitted the 2176 manifold I noticed a void not covered at the exhaust crossover. Is this OK? I didn't notice it when the old intake was on, but it appears it did not cover it either. I think I'm okay. I just want to make sure.

It's the same on my 67 273 2bbl. I think it is a divot for heat.

I would check the gasket to the intake and the intake to the head use the bolts to keep it aligned if the crossover holes line up I would say your in good shape .

2 different small blocks.

Just air in that passage. Run it.

Dom, not a problem on the crossover.

Just a reminder, if it's a automatic truck, make sure you get the transmission "pressure/kickdown" linkage set up properly.
