Since I stopped smoking. At 28 years old I smoked half my life. Cant say I miss it really. Only bad part is I cant stop eating, LOL. Thats ok, I can stand to gain a few lbs. :toothy7:

good for you! :wav: i know it is tuff , but hang in there. you will be so glad you did it. the later you smoke in life the harder it is to quit. be glad you made the choice to do it now, and don't look back!

Good for you! I smoked for 25 yrs. and I'm going on 5 yrs. since I quit. It's amazing! Your taste-buds come back, or might change totally. I eat things I never enjoyed in the past. I now eat fish, chocolate, and ice cream. Just not at once....:toothy7:

May I suggest carrying some chewing gum. When ever you feel the need to do the hand-mouth thing (smoking....eating....) pop a piece of gum in your mouth. Toothpicks help too as you still have something hanging outta yer mouth...

Hang in there... you CAN do it! Not to mention all the $$$$ a month you were (literally....) blowing on smokes will go a long way towards keeping you in high test when the `Cuda is in one piece again.

The only thing I miss is having something to do when I have nothing else to do. I do have a thing for sweets now, never cared for them before. Cant chew gum yet because of the swelling from my teeth. I really dont miss it that much and as for the money Im saving $5 a day, $35 a week, $140 a month or $1680 a year. Thats a lot. Now I need to get Michelle to stop.

This is coming from somebody that has smoked for almost 40 years. WAY TO GO ADAM!!! Hang in there and don't go back to them.

Nicotine is nasty stuff - HIGHLY toxic. I smoked as a teenager, went through various stages of chew, snuff, literally all kinds ending up on Copenhagen, the really hardcore stuff. I've stopped and started that at least 10 times in the past twenty years as recently as only a couple months ago. I'm stopped now. Toothpicks and gum are good. Good luck.

As far as the chew goes, if you have the willpower to control it, it's not too bad. You have to give your mouth and throat a break to heal every so often. It is the best thing to stay awake with, IMHO. I have never fallen asleep with tobacco in my mouth. While killng the taste buds, the nicotine does sharpen your other senses, just a tad. That is good for things like when you are on the road for 14 hours, or stranded with a broke down vehicle at night in the middle of a war zone.

I quit a couple years ago after smoking for nearly 30 years. I am so glad to have that monkey off my back.

BTW you are over the worst part. Anything else is all in your head. Just keep telling youself you are not a smoker.

Time to start taking that $5 a day and hiding it to get this car back together, LOL.

Way to go Adam! But..... Ya better give up cars too..... LOL

After all every time you touch (with bare skin) motor oil, brake cleaner, coolant, gas, carb clean, paint, etc. All these chemicals get absorbed thru the skin. Then there's breathing the fumes from some of it, body work dust, brake dust and welding fumes probably being the worst in a closed enviroment.
I do smoke and one of these days I will quit. I just wanted to share the thought/reminder... To wear saftey equipment like gloves and a proper respirator for the application. Gloves are cheap and a good respirator can be gotten for under $50 (forget the paper ones).
