2026 Car Goals- What’s yours?

-
Sounds like most of you guys want to work of stuff... I just want to drive mine... The more the better... Unfortunately the reality is they always need some kinda work...
Maintaining 10 vehicles [2 dragcars], is a bit time consuming. Winter is great for the way my hobby works.

are the 11x2” not working out for you? I have a set that I was going to use on an 83/4 and Dana both 11x2”. I know they are hard to find hardware for.

they have worked great for years. i think standard 11" hardware works on them.. was having trouble finding shoes. i also have a set of new 2.5" drums here and a set of all cleaned up backing plates.. figured if i'm replacing it all anyway i may as well go with the more common and wider shoes.

I was just looking for shoes, Kanter has them. I haven't bought them just yet.

My Charger needs a steering box and that is first. I bought a rear sway bar, and then found a weak spot on my rear frame rail. All the frame rails are in very good shape, EXCEPT right where the sway bar bolts in, it has a weak spot. Go figure.

Sharp car. Do they make a reproduction frame rail for it or do you have to make it yourself?

78 fury.
Get it wired to get rid of the lean burn
Swap cams (have melling spd 25 for it/ mild but noticeable improvement
I know people will cringe buts they're what I have
Get the 302 heads mounted with the 4bbl intake and TQ
Fix gas gauge
Drive the snot out of it

85 d150
Get dash reassembled with all the factory ac parts
Either find and fix the leak on the 727 (I was surprised it has that trans too) or get my a500 back together and put that in with the pressure switches needed for OD and lockup
Replace all the cracked out seam sealer so I can stop the leak at the side cowl/firewall seam so that I can prevent it from rotting out (this truck is surprising solid)
Drive the snot out of it, break in the fresh engine

83 D250. Have a. "Come to Jesus" meeting with the paint prison and be able to see actual progress when I stop by as there has been no progress in 4 months so far still sitting where I left it and untouched
Get new springs and suspension parts on frame, gas tank remounted, ready to accept freshly painted frame. Touch up spots on frame that I missed, and where it was sitting on sawhorses for the paint that did get applied
Get block and heads into machine shop

72 Colt
Rebuild my 833 Liberty Crash Box
Track time to put it in the 7's (1/8 Mile)

76 Lite
Engine rebuild
Front Brakes
Install the interior and glass
Drive it before Summer.

72 Duster; Get some seat time and iron all the bugs with the engine swap, tuning etc. Get the trans built and swap in the console and floor shifter. Make a pass at the track so I can have a to do list for 2027

72 Newport; get front shocks replaced, steering box adjusted and aligned, figure out oil pressure on the 400, DUAL Exhaust!,would love to get the A/c working and drive it.

82 Chevy C10; replace the carburetor, replace the battery cables, rebuild the transmission so it can take full throttle in second gear. Drive.

01 Mustang GT; Replace front struts, get rid of drone in the exhaust, resist the urge to buy the nitrous kit, drive more.

Wanted to put 5,000 miles on the cars in 2025. Made it to 3,500. Snow and salt came early this season. Try again this year. More track passes too, both cars. Maybe track test a few intakes on the X.

Fine tune my combo for better 60’ times this summer.

I picked up a complete conversion set and rebuilt A833 last summer for $3500. Two flywheels, two clutches, floor hump, two shifters, everything! I waited him out for months to see if that price would change. Just shy of Mopar Nationals (near him) I went to see it, afraid he’d let it go cheaper at the swap meet. He was a meticulous detailed restorer and so I thought it’s worth the coin…. I’ve compared prices 8 ways to Sunday and think it’s a wash anyway. He tossed in a clutch saver during negotiations to boot.

BUT I’m gonna beat up my automatic this summer.

Nice I have a non over drive four speed, that needs put together as well. I need the shift linkages, z-bar, clutch fork, and throw out bearing. One call to brewers should take care of it.
