273 hipo cam specs

My buddy has a 65 barracuda with a 273 4bbl. He is rebuilding it. We measured the cam and it appears to be approx .400 lift, after measuring the lobes, subtracting and multiplying. Is this about right for a 65 hipo engine? I used to have an early motors manual that had cam specs in it, but must have loaned it to someone and never got it back.
