360 FBO Ignition no spark

-
After dealing with no spark at about once a season my earliest suspicion was true that FBO ECU was bad. Took a total dump last weekend $300 later and lasted about 1700 miles. This one does them it goes back to the stock style MRE and the ballast. Don when contacted him in 2019 said only a handful heard ever gone bad. Paperweight now and got a new one from MRE. And it did have a good ground and wiring checked out each time there was no spark. Swap with the China Auto Parts brand as test and it would fire, so it was an intermittent failure.

Did they warrantee it or did you have to buy a new one?

How hard/ what is it like, the potting material? Is it soft like silicone, AKA could a person peel it out of there?

Bought a new one and didn’t even bother to contact FBO. They’ve changed hands since 2019 and it’s a 3 year warranty now vs 5. But it was going bad in 2019. Material was spongy/soft.

Also I doubt very much that ohms checks on an ECU box are very definitive.

There are a lot of different potting compounds out there. Some are hard plastic and some are more like caulk in how rubbery they are. Spongy / soft sealants are not necessarily a problem on their own.

No, I was wondering if a guy could dig it out of there.

Holley EFI modules use potting that looks like JB weld!!!!!!
