360 Question - 1989 in a Duster

Hey all,

Will a 1989 360 short block bolt into a 1974 Duster? Is it a roller cam engine or not?

Have a shot at a great deal on one but not sure about interchange.

Yes, it will bolt in with the right pan and mounts (assuming it's a truck engine). It will have the mounting spot under the intake on top of the cam bearing bores for the roller lifter retainer and guides. I am not sure if it has the cam or not in '89.

I am picking it up tomoorow...the block is completely machined and ready to go...has stock pistons and crank.

Do I have to use a roller cam in it or can I use non roller heads and cam?

no you dont have to use a hydraulic roller cam in it..

i have a mp crate shortblock...89 and it has a mp 508 cam in it.
