I have a 68 dart with a 383 that I inherited from my dad. The motor was built at least 20 years ago but never ran until this year when I got it running. I tore the engine down due to slight oil consumption and am trying to figure out what all was done to it. I talked to the guy that built it but he couldn’t remember and we haven’t found any info for parts he bought. I measured lobe lift of .308 on the intake and .325 on the exhaust. Intake at .05 is 224 and exhaust at .05 is 234 The closest I can come up with is the summit brand 6401. The engine is .040 over 2315 pistons and 906 heads with comp rockers.

That appears to be VERY close to the Crane Magic cam.

.467/.494
222 and 234 @ .050 ground on a 114 LSA.

That is a VERY good grind for a mild street build.

thanks. It had schumaker tri ys on it but he had a set of ceramic coated long tubes for it as well that I’m going to try and put on. It has an Offy dual quad with edelbrock 600s on it and I also have a Weiand 8008 dual plane for it. I put 3.55s in It has a tci trans with an 1800 converter that I would like to upgrade once I get the cam figured out
