4 speed identifacation please ?

can someone decode this 4 speed i have sitting here?



the #'s on the right side pad are as follows.


first line: 6G198948

second line: PP833 5397


atleast thats what the #'s look to be anyway...

looks like it came out of a 1976 model built at the St. Louis plant. Not sure where the trans. was assembled (PP). 833 built on the 5,397th day of the 10,000 day calendar. Sounds about right for a '76. There are usually 3 or 4 numbers after the date code that tells you if it was the 20th or the 453rd put together that day. Ray
