Hi I have a 75 jeep 401 engine and was wondering what is intell in installing into my 74 dart? It's a 74 original v8 car with a 70 front end I figure since I have the 401 I'd install it but not sure any ideas would be great

id tuck the 401 under the bench for now and hold onto it for later. Those are real cool engines. I'd just snap up a 360 magnum and drop it in. A whoooolleee lot less headache.
Save the 401 for something like this

custom motor and trans mounts. custom headers if the manifolds don't fit. maybe a custom oil pan to clear the k-frame and steering linkage....
personally i would sell that 401 to a AMC guy (be bad *** in a little CJ5) and build buy a chrysler motor for it. but hey thats me..
I think it would be cool myself.. Lots of head scratching when you raise the hood..
It would be a novelty for the first 10 minutes or so. Basic engine swaps like that really aren't a big deal anymore.
Yall are missing the point. It's not YOUR car. Yall are not the judge of what is cool for HIS car. HE is.
You're missing the point. OP asked our opinion, and we're giving it.
there is nothing "unique" "strange" "cool" or "anything" about a 401. Installing one in a mopar would hardly make it "different" because most riceheads would just think it's a "sbc stroker" anyhow
sell it to a jeep owner who needs it, use the money to buy a 360
you can put anything into anything, i guess, if you have enough time, money, and determination
