Has anyone used 471" small block mopar stroker have built by SPEED O MOTIVE? I would like more information about this type of engine.

Thanks...

If you are trying to get there with a stock mopar block, I would think twice about that. That's "R" block territory and big heads to feed that monster.

Speedomotive is OK. I don't think they are the same as when August C was there.

You might look around at others that deal with SB stuff, Brian at Indio Motor, Ryan at shady dell. Never hurts to get other opinions.

I just read the new Engine Masters Mopar smallblock build. It,s a 395c.i pushing a whopping 627hp with a stock block(with some minor grinding)They used Brians lifters for this build!Congrats Brian!

I don't know anything about speedomotve engines good or bad, but they sure have cheap prices on there motors, I was thinking you couldn't buy the parts to build one for there price, Mabey someone here has used em and will chime in

My brother has a Speedomotive 408 stroker in his 65 cuda and it runs great. Had it for a few years now although he hasn't put too many miles on it... No complaints so far.

Making 471 cid out of a factory block requires complete removal of the cylinder walls before the oversize sleeves can be inserted. Scary to see the hollow block cavity! Combined with Milodon caps, hardblock and thick Darton sleeves the bottom end is rigid but the deck is of concern. A shorter stroke 440 with 13-1, Indy heads making 700hp has been racing at local tracks for two seasons without incident. Re-ring after last season showed no signs of deck cracking. However, just because we can do something doesn't mean we should. Same power could be made with smaller cid and better heads but some guys just want bigger.

sleeves are nice.
