6 stroke engine

"injects ordinary water. Inside the extremely hot chamber, the water immediately turns to steam– expanding to 1600 times its volume– which forces the piston down for a second power stroke. Another exhaust cycle pushes the steam out of the chamber, and then the six-stroke cycle begins again."

It looks like a good idea to me, but the one thing in tha article that doesnt make a ton of sense is the part about weight savings from the Radiator and coolant, you would still need a water tank for the water injection, so that would probably make up for the weight savings from no Radiator.

haha no kidding, never thought of that

That is interesting, Dang I wish I had thought of that. The extra water weight will be an issue for smaller cars and trucks. Long haul trucks can use one of their 50-100 gallon saddle tanks for water.

it looks like he is using a single cylinder constant speed motor.
varying engine loads and speeds might change
the effects of the cylinder heats making steam
expansion erratic. the effect would make a
multi-cylinder engine shake, effecting balance and harmonics.
i wish there were more info on the problems he has run into
and how he resolved them.
to me it looks like some problems might be eliminated by using
a rotary motor like the wankel engine or a turbine.
turbines will run on most anything.
just thinking out loud.

i almost forgot thanks littleman66 for
the new website to explore.
