As the title states I have a 65 Barracuda I’m setting up for road racing that I want to delete the power steering on. I want to keep the power steering box for gear ratio in it, but I want manual linkage. Anyone know a way to do that?

There is nothing such as "manual linkage". The steering linkage (pitman and idler arms, centre link, tie rod and ends) are all the same. A P/S box minus the power is not a nonpower steering box; you'll have vague, sloppy, difficult-to-control steering if you try this. Also, the P/S box is much heavier than a nonpower box. There are several ways you can get the same 16:1 ratio you have now in a nonpower box—you can buy an aluminum-case Chrysler box with the 16:1 ratio (such as from Firm Feel here , or you can buy an iron-case Flaming River box with the 16:1 ratio here.

Then (assuming your coupler is in good shape) all you need is either the longer nonpower steering shaft (goes down the middle of your steering column) or the few-inch-long extender, also available from Firm Feel here.

Go manual with a flaming wallet extension or a longer borgeson style u-joint to make up for the 2 inches you lose when you put a smaller manual box in there. Easier than a manual column or go cheap and graft in a welded section of pipe with id to match the steering shaft. Weld it up good and maybe even pin it for added security. I hacksawed 3 inches off a yard doner, beveled the edges and welded the extension onto power shaft with help of some angle irons and vice grips. Kept it straight as an arrow when i was welding it up. Ground down the bead and it looks very smooth.
