65 barracuda

a split stripe down the 65/66 barracuda is a formula s stripe. It was only available on these upgraded performance models. However it was an option and I have seen some formula s models without it.
 
Actually, it was a dealer installed option available for ALL Barracudas . It was not necessarily part of the Formula S Package, since it was a dealer applied item. Some Formula S cars did not have them, while some slant 6 models did. It was a $31 Stripe Option for the '64-'65 which was a 6 inch center stripe with a 1 inch space and 1 inch stripe on each side of the center stripe. However, the stripe dimensions varied slightly depending on the dealership due to not being inspected like it would have been if done at the factory. I believe that they were available in black, white, red, and gold. Have this information in mind when you reproduce them on your car.
The '66 stripe was twin 4 inch stripes straddling a 1 inch center space, with one 1 inch space and one 1 inch stripe to either side of that. Not sure of the cost or colors for '66.
