if that will stop it im in , do you know why it does this ?Mini-starter?
i will check shimplate but i dont recall installing any , where can i get shim plates ?Its milling the flywheel. Is there a shim/plate between starter/bellhousing?
I would pull starter and see if its rubbing ring gear.
Also, when installing did you get it in straight?
The shim or the grinding?Don' tworry about it.
You know that sound the some of these old starters make after disengagement...the "run on"... sounds like a chain dragging to a halt or a more like very noisy roller skate wheel but louder. That can go on for years and not fail... though I myself would get a mini off a 1500 or something and skip the boat anchor starter. The shim or the grinding?
I have always had one under the starter, thought it had to be there.
Maybe op should make a recording, upload it to youtube and post a link.
^^Yup^^ I was thinking it is a bad starter drive.
