69 340 fan...clutch or no clutch???

I have 2 fans, one has clutch(fan #2863216) and #2863215 doesnt. I want to use the 2863215 for my 69 cuda, but did they orig come with a clutch?? What are the benefits to using the clutch??

from what I have read over the years and also from my experience the hp stock clutch fan set up if set up right is hard to beat. less drag then anything else.

K.O. is correct, it frees up a bit of power by only locking up when needed. The picture of mine is for a non-AC car. The air conditioned cars used a thermostatically controlled spring on the clutch.

I will have to chk the clutch on mine. My car is an non-ac car as well. Thanks for the pic

I run the Mopar Performance viscous fan on my 340. It's supposed to free up 15 hp?!?

Looks like the clutch is the same as the one Commando66 posted! So eez alll gud!! I will be posting 2863216 for sale now....
