727 or 904 for my Duster

I have a 1972 duster with slant/ 6 and a 904trans. I bought a 340 with a built 727 out of a 1/2 ton truck. Im planning on putting the 340 in the duster. Can I use the 727 out of the truck? Will the tail shaft be the right length? If so will the cross member work? I dont mind building a new drive shaft? Let me know what you think. Thanks Mike

mike ...some of the pickup trucks used shorter tail shafts on the 727, you will need to look at it and determine if it is short or not...the tail shafts can be changed out...

the longer tail shaft will have the correct location for the cross member mount...
