We are putting a manual gear box from a B body into a 74 Duster. Problem is that the pitman arm off the power steering box wont fit the splines on the manual box. Its too big, the arm just spins on the shaft. I am told that the arm that we need is from 73 - 76 A body. The early ones dont work at all, the taper on the joint is from the bottom and the taper on the steering arm is from the top..they dont match...what to do??? Where to buy the correct one?? Is the manual pitman arom from the same years...73 - 76 .. the smaller size same as the B body gear box????? Gues thats the biggest question..

73-76 A Body manual steering pitman arm

Moog #K7075

Spline Diameter:

1.061 to the base of the splines

1.004 measured at the peak

Maybe you could measure the spline diameter on the B-Body box you have and see if this one will work for you.

look a few posts down I had the same issue. The guy at advance said the ps and man steering had the same pitman arm for 73+.....wrong
I just ordered the moog part from Mancini

if i did this right, heres a pic of the pitman arm you need
moog 7075
$46 from mancini

This is what I have..I have a 70 B body manual grear box...its in a 74 duster..the correct pitman arm for the duster..power or manual WONT work at all..The input shaft on the box is too small for the pitman arm...the arm just spins on the shaft. The Moog part is the exact same thing i think..if anyone knows FOR SURE that it has the smaller hole and connects from the TOP of the steering shaft too. I dont think that the 72 and below gear box will work in a 73 and later. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it please let us know ..we have been working and waiting on this one part for over 2 months now and still cant drive the car...Damn!!

check out these links. I'm not sure what my box came out of,got it from a swap meet. Its going into a 73 Duster as soon as I have time to finish cleaning it up and buy the steering adapter.
I would bet you dont have the right ms arm
My first trip to the parts store I thought I had the right one, until I got home..lol
anyway the moog is K7075
its only 46 from mancini racing, it would be worth a shot

There is one configuration of pitman arm that just wasn't made or not factory anyway. Maybe the aftermarket has something that will work.
If not you will have to find a later manual gearbox or the earlier draglink and idler arm.

Agree completely with this post. For 73-76 there are two pitmans, at a distance they are identical, but the one for manual fits the smaller spline shaft. Order the part number you need, NOT the application. It's custom and people on the phone almost always steer you wrong (no pun intended).

well you pm'd me for a couple more pics
I have it just set on the box, because need to clean it up first.
You can tell its not too big ( doesnt spin around on the shaft)
bolt facing down,,73-up
