I love dark green cars, can't wait to see more!
I have a question though, why would you paint the jambs etc. first and not just spray the whole car at once exterior and all?
A lot of guys do this and i don't understand why. To me it seems like there would be more work in cleaning things up (overspray etc.) by doing it this way. A lot more masking too.
Just curious........

Thanks. Its getting white stripes. Already got them from Challenger Gary. The car will be painted tomorrow !

Man you didn't waste any time. Once you decided to get back at it, you did! Looks great, not long now.
 
I pretty much had the body work done at the end of last summer but wanted to let it sit and shrink over the winter. I ended up deciding to pull the motor and do the engine bay too and reprimed the car so I could fix a few small spots and block it once more with 400 wet and 600 wet.
 
How in the world did I miss this thread??? That Duster looks awesome! I have always likedthat color, even kicked it around in my head for a bit on my Dart Sport. For once, I would really like to own a mopar with a finished body. One that I can actually wax. Nice work!!!!
 
You can smell it but its not coming from my car. The painter had a car to do before mine. Which he painted the wrong color. Mines still in primer. Yup. Thats body shops for ya.

The rumor is tomorrow, which probably means next week. Im trying not to complain because of the deal Im getting but its getting hard to work around the Duster seeing I detail and normally use a lot of silicone.
 
Yeah, from working at body shops I know how they are. They had an issue with the painter painting a car the wrong color pearl white because they had 2 peral white cars in the shop at the same time, Then they had an issue with their water based paint not drying because it was so humid the other day. We will see what tomorrow brings.
 
Keep your chin up, you are real close to seeing color.
Mine is no where near paint still doing metal work.
 
She's in the booth, all masked and paint is being mixed !
