Nope. I got thrown under the bus on it.

New guy is going to do it 8am this Monday.

I've heard you say it before .... Friend deals don't work out.. I don't need a hand out. I just need it done. Fck em!

If i had a nickel for every time i had felt that way.....

I just pay full price or figure it out myself these days. Hopefully this time works out for ya.

If my junk was out of the garage we could do it here!

Got an old bubble style camber caster gauge, tape measurer, 4 pepsi cans and a couple pieces if 1x1 tube, DONE!

I hear that! I'm all for it!

Shoot bring all your junk here tomorrow if your board! I got plenty of room!

I wasn't getting a discount or anything. The guy is supposed to know his stuff is all.

Scott at precision alignment in town should be able to handle it. We will see.

What are the Pepsi cans and 1x1 tube for? I aligned my own stuff with a level and tape measure. Put as much castor in as I could, put the wheels vertical with me in the seat, and made the wheels as straight as I could. Ran straight down the track.

Car is on the rack. Supposed to be done by the afternoon. Tires got to come off and they have to adjust the heims on the upper control arms. I left the car there. Had to go to work.

Alignment is done! It goes straight & no shake at 140mph! Lol

Going to winter nationals on Friday with Pete & Barona on Saturday unless the powder coater is open to drop off his frame he needs done.

Louis,
With all this alignment talk, would you invest 200.00-300.00 on a digital alignment tool??? Ive got an alignment of my own coming up on my 71 Charger and im pondering picking up a tool. I think you can get a bubble type for 150.00ish, but its the add on stuff that im not sure of. You need a plate for under the front tire that tells you degrees of turn, but I think you can make one with a protractor pretty cheap and easy, and also you need an accurate way to set toe. Is it worth the investment? I have access to an old school Chrysler dealership with an alignment rack, and they usually charge me 150.00ish.

I've done them with this stuff.

You can add in some floor tiles and salt for turn plates.

Toughest deal on old mopars is the GD upper A arm Adjusters.

It's a good investment if you have a flat place to do the work. I've used my car trailer, level side to side, front to back and go. An uneven garage floor is easy to fix with a bucket of water, clear tubing and yardstick.

I read the old threads here last night and looked on you tube etc. Jegs has some digital units and some bubble units. Id spend the 300 bucks for a digital unit, its just the "what don't I know" part that worries me. I have a flat very slick coated garage floor, and ill bet I could fabricate a protractor type pad for the tires, but the Toe adjustment is still and unknown and the correct adapters are in question. The threads here lean towards getting the wheel mound instead of the spindle magnet type.

Yes I would buy one.

True Rob on the upper adjusters. I just paid $315.00 for my alignment. Shop said it took them 2.5 hours to pull the tires and adjust the upper Heims. The car does sit low so it makes it more difficult...... Now we all know that is HORSE ****. I myself could do both sides in 15 Min easily......and I don't even have a rack or a fancy Laser tool! Lol, No reason to argue though. Pay the man and STFU!

Yes for sure I would buy one. I hate relying on people and then to believe they will do the job correctly! I had to leave my car overnight at the shop and I just about flipped a lid over it. I have done so much work on the car is why. I just don't trust people to take care of it like I do. Customer service and respect for other peoples stuff went out the window a very long time ago.

Real life story.....A friend of mine "Big Biker" took his Harley in for service locally here in town. New camshafts, exhaust and tune. When he got it back he found a scratch on the bottom of his gas tank.........He walked up to the tech and totally Beat the living **** out of him for it. Cops were never called or anything. The tech actually came out of the shop squared off thinking he could take him out......... He found out different. Biker guys don't Fck around when it comes to their **** is all I can say! Haaaa

I may give it a go ,i just want to do as much research as I can. A couple threads on here make it sound pretty easy, I just don't want to make the mistake of buying a unit that needs a bunch of accessories to work with the older cars. 300.00 bucks is a pretty good poke for an alignment. Its more of the hassle of trailering the car somewhere to have it done.

You can also use a couple of VCT tiles and some grease to make floor turning pads. I've done them at home too - I use 4 jackstands and some kite string rather than the 1x1 tubing...lol.

A close friend has a BMW M5 for his summer fun car in addition to his '70 Cuda. He has to take it in to BMW to keep the warranty in force. Last summer he dropped it off for a bunch of service interval-type stuff. He was there to pick it up first thing in the am. He took delivery of it and noticed the rear tires were now bald. He located and then escorted the dealership owner to the car, showed it to him, and then showed him the rubber in the wheel wells. The owner walked into the service department, found out who the tech was, and walked out into the shop with my buddy in tow and sent him home for the day without pay. I almost liek the biker's response better...lol.

That tech is lucky that is all that happened. I can't believe he did that, crazy! My biker buddy would have probably killed him over that one! haaaa

Usually lot attendants are the worst or Valet Parking attendants.

Things didn't go well or what? Hope that beast is still in one piece!

Lol, didn't go. Had to help with Pete's frame. We were going to go to Fontana this weekend but it gets really crowded for test and tune is what I was told. If you get 2 runs in, you are lucky. I am in no rush, work is busier than ever. Gotta knock down that dough!

Going to have my buddy try & arrange a Track Rental day here soon. $100.00 a car, hot lap city.

Best way to do it if you want to actually test or tune anything.

Yes, I have burned up some fuel. Car runs good and goes straight. The coil overs and ladder bars ride HELLAA better than leaf springs. Nice and smooth. All of the Hype of a solid mounted ladder bar & Spool while on the street is total HORSESHIT is all I can say about that. There are no negatives so far at all.... Even while off camber turning into a driveway. It does not do any of the things that all the NAY sayers talk about. Another MYTH Busted is how I feel about that. The exhaust system is pretty damn loud when stomping on the throttle. It seems to quite down on a JUICE blast. Not as Pitchy.

The 4.30 Gears don't seem too radical either. I am going to gauge RPM with my GPS and see what my MPH is on the FWY.

One thing that I would like to do is add power steering. I was thinking about it even before I installed the new rear end. That could roll into the same thing as the rear end did..... New K Frame etc with a Power Rack on the menu?? Damn.........

There is a local "all car" cruise in tonight at 8pm. Going to possibly head over there and check it out.
