73-up spool motor mounts

why do some people consider the 73-up kframes/spool motor mounts to be superior?
I cant even see how they actually hold a motor in place, looks like the thru bolt in the spool would just come right up and out of the slots in the k-frame tower with enough torque??

The slots have a part that is bent over to retain the through bolt. It cannot come out. If you've ever had a biscuit mount fail you'll understand why the spool mounts are superior. The fan TORE up the original fan shroud in my GTS convertible when the mount let go...........

That ain't happenin. I have ripped the buscuits in half offten. No such luck with the through bolt.

73 and up b body k frames had spools as well... IIRC
