To start I don't know all the nomenclature so here it goes.
My 74 turns over easy. but does not start. I primed the carb and it fires then
dies. I pulled the fuel line, and it is getting fuel.
I pulled the that small cover in front the barrel, it seems this is the "power valve"
Please correct me I'f I'm wrong.
So I poured some gas into the area and it just drains away...
I did this 2 or 3 times. I don't know much about if anything about these BBD Carbs
so enlighten me..
Best

I'll start off with a line of questioning. Is this a cold start? After the engine has sat for a few hours or over night? With a stroke of the throttle, are you getting accelerator pump squirt and is the choke butterfly going all the way closed?

Sorry for sideways pic

hi Toolman, Pishta
After thinking about this for a couple hours
I would say the float is stuck... I'm getting plenty
of fuel pressure... I'll take the top of the carb off
tomorrow and check it out...
I just rebuilt my Autolite 4100 today... so I was
not really in the mood for another carb build..
I'll let you guys know what happesn
Thanks for your input
BTW Toolman
there was no squirt, from accelerator pump....

OK, thanks again for all your input.
the Carb just needs a rebuild..accelerator pump
is not pushing gas..
just sitting to long
Best
