Hello all,
I decided to move my initial thread from the FABO Welcome Wagon to a new thread here. I am in the (slow) process of my winter project and first in depth car restoration, a 1976 Plymouth Scamp. It has the 225 Slant 6, 3 speed automatic (I haven't checked to see if its the 904 or 727...probably the 904). There is some rust concern, but overall not in "I am going to fall apart" shape. I am currently in the process of removing the engine and transmission. Once those are out, I will be stripping the engine down to the block, head, and crank to take to my local machine shop for inspection and decking (if the block checks out, I am going to ask about doing a .040 bore). I have a lead on an A833 4 speed with slant 6 bell housing. I will know more about that in the next day or so. I want to keep the slant and run a 2 barrel conversion. I haven't decided on headers yet. I've found pricing to be similar with either the Hooker headers or Dutra Duals. My goal is a street machine with a little bit of balls, lol. Seats need a recover and some foam work, and the rear deck has some water getting in I think through the rear glass in the bottom corners. It has disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. Eventually down the road, I will look into suspension and rear diff upgrades. Everything is base stock from what I can tell. I have been making a video blog on Youtube of the process (I haven't posted in a few weeks on it due to my schedule at work changing for a while). Here are photos and links to the videos, and the link to the original thread from the welcome wagon. Thanks for looking! The next episode I hope will be out in a week or two.
