AJ what are you asking? Don’t understand the question. Are the crosspins in ramp to ramp?
I have it the way it supposed to be the pointed end down and the opposite pointed end up. If this is incorrect then I’m truly confused. The ends of the cross pins have a rounded side and a ramped side. The case halves have only a ramped side, the other side being empty. In order for the unit to work, the ramps have to be facing eachother.
When you apply power to the pinion, it turns the case. But with the wheels tied to the road, the sidegears resist the turning. This causes the ramps on the case to ride over the ramps on the crosspins, forcing the spider gears into the side gears, which squeezes the clutches together and thereby clamping the whole thing solid, depending on how the unit is set up.
So, in your pics; it looks to me like the ramps are not oriented correctly, which is why I asked.
In Pishta's post, #11, they appear to be correct
Correct that is the way I put it together. The V of the shafts go towards the V in the case halves. One faces down one faces up. Simple enough.
