8 Pack Induction?

Webers! Cool! Syncronizing all 8 butterflys would be a pain, but I bet it would run really well. No fuel distribution problems here, and Webers are some of the most tuneable carbs availible. I'd bet it would sound absolutely wicked at WOT. I like it.

Something does look funky though. I don't think those intake ports would match up.

That's cool, but not the craziest intake I've ever seen. A Pontiac friend of mine had an intake that had 6 or 8 - 2 barrels on it. I don't think he ever put it on an engine, he picked it up at a swap meet cuz it looked crazy.

I'll find some pics...

I ran a pair of 40 IDA's on a `67 VW bug years ago. The engine was an 1885 cc that was fairly well put together. Ran real nice...and they're really not that hard to sync or jet.

And as for the intakes, the big blocks intake ports look exactly like the manifold runners. Looks like it would drop right on.

You are correct, Webers are easy to jet. My personal experience with webers is limited to my fiance's and her dad's BMW SCCA race cars. Both use Webers, and her dad can sync 'em by ear. I have to use gauges cause I'm damn near deaf from years of abuse from my drag bikes, concerts and one jerk off ex-friend who thought it would be funny to fire off his rifle 5 feet away from me without warning. He got a broken nose for his trouble.

Anyway, yes you are right, as long as the linkages don't have a bunch of play, syncing carbs is no big deal. :icon_smi: Must be why you chose the six-pack set up!
