Just wondering what's the difference between a standard steel wheel for a drum-brake A Body and one with Kelsey Hayes disc-brakes? I have a 67 Barracuda with Kelsey Hayes brakes up front and looking for a set of OEM steel wheels to go back to the stock standard look with wheel covers and red streak tyres. I know it must have something to do with clearance for the calipers, not sure where the difference is though.

At the moment I'm running a nice set of small bolt pattern Rallye wheels, which a cool but obviously not correct for the car.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the one inch difference is in the wheel hoop and not the hub or diameter. Both are 14 " wheels.

Fwiw inexpensive 14x6 sbp chrome reverse wheels are readily available on fb and ebay.
Typically with rust, aka even cheaper, a little clean up, paint, they look exactly the same, and you can run a bigger tire.

Got me thinking ?? So I measured the backspacing and both were 4 3/4". But after close inspection and trying to jog my memory it appears that the outer hoop is different not only in width but slight design. Memory is now kicking in and yes in order to use factory kelsey hayes disk brakes the 5.5 wheels are necessary, as the calipers need extra clearance. Hard to see but they are different. Sorry if I misled earlier.
