A/C Temperature Switch

I have a aftermarket A/C system in my dodge motorhome. The tube that senses evaporator temperature so it doesn't freeze up has a hole. No A/C. What do you think about converting it to pressure cycling? It would be better on fuel.

Pressure cycling will not work well on an expansion valve system. Why not just replace the thermal switch? They are inexpensive. Also changing will not help fuel mileage.
