SAPULPA, Okla. -- A former Creek County judge once convicted of using a sexual device in court was arrested early Tuesday and faces felony drug and alcohol charges.
Special District Judge Richard Woolery set bail at $76,500 for 64-year-old former judge Donald Thompson. The Tulsa World reported Thompson is scheduled for a July 26 court appearance.
Thompson was arrested just after 4 a.m. after a Creek County Sheriff's Office deputy said he spotted Thompson's vehicle weaving in lanes on State Highway 117 near Sapulpa. Authorities said Thompson's vehicle also had a broken tail light. The deputy said in his report Thompson had an open container of beer in the vehicle and that Thompson's temporary driver's license had expired on July 15. The deputy said Thompson also had the drug Lortab is his possession.
Thompson faces six charges, including three felonies -- driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription after a former felony conviction and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after a former felony conviction.
Thompson's attorney, Rob Nigh, didn't immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday.
Thompson was convicted in 2006 on felony indecent exposure counts for using a sexual device called a ***** pump while presiding over trials. He served about 20 months of a four-year prison term. In 2009, he was convicted in Tulsa County of actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.
In June, Thompson was charged with stalking a woman in Sapulpa. A court hearing on that charge is scheduled for Aug. 9.
Thompson spent almost 23 years on the bench and had served as a state legislator before retiring from the court in 2004.

must ta been a Democrat, or the press would have mentioned 2,000 times
that he was a Republican.

What a way to get on the map! This guy lives in the housing addition next to me. What a loser.
Always thought he was odd.
The other judge mentioned in the story (Woolery) isn't much better. He seems to like to call up (court house) women & talk dirty to them. He will probably be our next big story. LOL
I have talk with people that knew him (Thompson) when he was in school & said he was a big horn dog. If a girl went on a date with him, it was put out or walk.
The bad thing is, He has a great family & wife. They all have been put through hell because of him.
Oh well, thats why we are called "CROOK" county.
