Interestingly I always wipe the mounting surface on the motor clean before putting a new filter onI don't consciously chk for the oring stuck to block, but I always chk/peek at old filter when I remove it

If it's not shinny metal it stands out.
A tech inspector at Lebanon Valley Dragway said they wouldn't allow you to run with a plastic OPS line. An AN line is nice too, but sometimes because of the larger inside diameter it often takes a moment for the guage to move.I've run plastic for 12 years now. Used what came with Autometer gauges. Now I may have replaced it once as maintenance(no leaks)
Hell of an idea! Never thought of thatAluminum foil on headers is a fast and cheap solution to keep oil off them when changing filter.
