I've been very busy with the duster and just a few more finishing touches and it should be ready for a small test drive next weekend.
I've ran out of time and certainly money, so like it or not - it is what it is ......
And again the winter list-
Out with (blown up) 8 3/4 and replaced with dana 60 spool 35 spline axles same 410 gears. And shortened drive line.
Out with /6 springs and air shocks and replaced with 002-003 springs and cheap summit drag shocks.
Freshened 4 speed - new bearing and seals, steel shifter forks, syncros, and a couple other smaller parts.
Out with six puck clutch disk - replaced with hays street/light strip disk (YR- I know, booth 2436 pir tell me in person I'll buy ya a beer)
Out with pistol grip- replaced with v-gate.
Out with 1.88's - replaced with 2.02's plus port job.
Out with 273 rockers 1.5 to 1 (or so) with hughes 1.6's.
plus 8 point Roll bar, homemade frame connectors, and cheap summit front drag shocks.
I still have the 6al and 2 step MSD to install. I don't mind buying a msd coil, but just no $ now for a msd distributor and wires.
anyways I'm not sure where I'll end up et wise? The very small heads and suspension gains vs.the extra weight?
Again for better or worse - it is what it is . ....

go go, run that sucker like your *** is on fire and the seat is ketching...

You need a msd blaster 2 coil?

if so..pm me your address and I will mail it to you....

I run an old MP adjustable dizzy with FBO box and coil, no problems.

MSD 6 box works with just about anything, even points. If you want to keep your orange or chrome box then use the white trigger wire. I like to run the two wire pigtail to the magnetic pickup lead. Purple and green wires. 50/50 chance of wiring it correctly so if it runs poorly just swap the wires around. The man is donating a coil, very cool!

....so how did you run out of time and $$... :poke: LOL - sounds like a good formula - what year is the Duster - got pics?

easy, running out of time- only two weekends of t&t left before the bracket season begins and here in Oregon the weather may or may not cooperate over the next two weekends? As listed so many new parts with no testing. $$? Oh man! Every winter I budget for $$, and it is always $$$$ !!!! Lol I promised the wife, fellow drag racers, and most importantly myself if this car has anything major go wrong, I'm done with it til next season. I'm at the end of my rope with putting big $ this year.
it's a 73, I'm almost embarrassed to put another picture of the car on this forum as over the last two years I've probably posted a picture of every last nut and bolt.

If it stops raining for an hour tomorrow I should be firing up the duster for the first time in six months

That's a pile of changes. You are basically starting over from scratch with a totally different car. Good luck. I hope all your hard work pays off.

Reverse is binding ! It's not the shifter even when I put a pair of vice grips on the liver it's really binding hard but it goes in but again I don't like what's going on?

fire it up ! it don't look like it's raining in the garage. lol
it may be another month before it stops raining, you might want to get a rain coat.
Well I kind of didn't want to fire it up in the garage as it's very connected to the house and wood likely fill the house up with race gas smell which the wife doesn't complain about but I know she doesn't like it. I did get out and get it started and find out the reverse isn't working, but on the 4 Speed part of the Forum they help me out and it's fixed! I did run it a little bit down the block and back and everything seemed fine the motor sounded good and with the new Hughes rockers I could swear it took a lot of that sewing machine sound out of it? Lash to tight? Now I'm hoping today that I'll get a little spot in between rain storms and actually be able to go through the gears and see how the synchros and stuff like that are working? All in all so far so good...

Video of a burnout
In the rain ?!? LOL I've got plenty of videos at the track but my neighbors are very tolerant of the car and supportive but if I go burning the tires up and down the block maybe not so much? LOL

and don't forget - keep the schmegma to a minimum.. :glasses7: - thanks for the laugh in that drain plug thread!
