Alternator Field Locations

I'm wiring my 1974 Valiant completely from scratch. The car has the standard 70s 60amp alternator on it. Do any of you know which plug is field + and which one is field -?

If 70’s style either one is the same.
Earlier ones are one is grounded and one is +. It’s all in which voltage regulator you are using.

Ohm meter the tab (spade connector to brush) to alternator housing. If one is open (+) and one is 0.00 then that one is ground.

The two field connections are electrically interchangeable. There is no pos or neg for the field.

Thanks for that information. I was so worried I'd hook it up backwards.
