Good morning, I have to ask, I am installing powermater 90 amp one wire alt with built-in voltage regulator in my 70 dart swinger. After reading all the bypass post and arguments
If I reroute 10 wire with fusable link, J spot on bulkhead and do the amp meter bypass ( or do not) and pull the black 12 wire off the p bulkhead inside the car and safe it off. Then remove or eliminate the 12 black wire from alternator to p bulkhead engine bay .Does anyone see why this would not work.
I am not trying to start a arguments!

I'm no expert by any means. You could run the power from alt. to the starter relay. Then make any changes to your black (power) wire that goes thru the bulkhead to the splice and air meter removal. You need the Black wire as it feeds your ignition switch and continues to the Fuse panel. I'm sure your talking about this mornings post.
Am meter bypass...technical stuff before my car catches in fire !

You don't need a bypass other than a big charge wire. With a one wire you simply connect directly to the post on the starter relay or the battery positive itself, so you won't be charging through the bulkhead (the stock harness charge wire).

If you run a wire as above in post 2, fuse or breaker protect it. You still need to make certain that the bulkhead terminals are in good shape, because running that jumper wire turns the old red and black ammeter wires into a parallel circuit to run power into the car interior. Also Make certain that the ammeter connections are OK and most guys bolt them together and tape them. They are both "hot" the black is NOT ground.

67 Dart,I am in process of doing the amp meter bypass, I know the black wire goes to welded splice to feed other things, but if I pull the black 12 wire out of the bulkhead (Inside the car) and safe it off, would that work

On my 64 I did the following, years ago:

New 10 gauge wire with fuseable link from alternator to starter relay + post.

Took black wire off alternator, shortened it, connected it to + on starter relay. Removed it from the ammeter and dead ended it.
Black wire has splice in harness that feeds dash, lights, etc.

Removed original red wire from ammeter to starter relay completely.
