Since I’m usually driving I rarely get to see my faster go down the track. But the video I shared from Norwalk and this picture I took of Matt’s pass that he wrecked on both show signs of smoke at the starting line while floored on the transbrake. This engine was flooded with oil twice earlier this year when I tried running the heads I moved the pushrod over on. Then I ended up using my old open chamber heads that were the best set I’d done up till this point. I bought them as used damaged heads for around 350.00 and I’m not sure how long they were ran. Then I used them on three refreshes and my son used them a couple of years. It may be guides but I only see it at the line. I never changed the valve settings all year, four years on the Autolite plugs, never changed a jet except before I brought it out this year (new carb), and never moved the timing, (I think it’s at 34-35). I guess I should leak it down and do a compression test but I’m thinking it was a hair rich. I wish I had data from his pass on Saturday.

just trying to help you bat this around a little BUT.
I thing if it was guides it would be a issue at start up and in the shutdown area.

Does any of the plugs show signs of oil or oil carbon.

I thought this was about you going to work being a Walmart greeter or something lol. Glad that’s not happening.
