Just made the CAD from one on my 67 Dart.

I can print them in plastic which will last a long time but not 60 years

I'll print some up and see how they fit

we will know in an hour or less

this part MIGHT work (McMaster Carr)

The first ones turned out really well but it was 1 am so I went to bed.
They are black because that's the color of the material I had in my printer.

I need to thicken up the head a bit but they are a press fit into the ashtray and like toe OEM pieces will need some physical persuasion. Small c clamp or pliers and a small socket should do it.

I was worried about pulling my oem out but it came out with gentle persuasion.

anyone know whjat years they cover? my first guess is 67-72 maybe 76

I would also guess many B,C and E bodies too

So far I have seen the same or very similar dots on up to 1980 Pickup, 70 B body I even went to the dealer to see if 80s pickups had metal ashtrays. farthest back they go is 85 (so narrow minded)

I have a workaround that should work for a long time. At you local hardware store (amazon etc.) they sell nylon bolts 6-32 fits in the 1/8" hole with a touch of friction fit. The dot is captured in between the ash tray and its receiver so little to no chance of it coming out. and if it does its an easy fix.

This is a 4-40 screw and nut on the right (OEM on the left)
Fits loosely in the 1/8" od hole

This is a 6-32 screw no nut needed on the right (OEM on the left)
Fits snugly in the 1/8" od hole, the head is a bit larger in Dia .28 vs .25

I'll still finish the design and make some, as I'll take an oem looking part over backyard engineering any day!

I also have them on my wrecking yard picking list for march. I bet I can get several pairs.

I did some testing on the ones I made.

the mark on the rear of the spring tab is the catch scraping on the spring metal. It was there from the OEM parts which don't look particularly worn down. You can still see molding marks on the OEM pieces

I put 2 in my ashtray and opened and closed it 100 times. One open and one close cycle is 1 time.

The black is the old grease gunk under the ashtray receiver. There is signs of wear but nothing grotesque.

If anyone want to test them out PM me and I'll shoot you a few. I might be able to get away putting them in a standard envelope but it is right on the edge of thinness and certainly is not flexible.

ALSO.... If anyone has new ones as part of a new ashtray, PM me and maybe you can get me some dimensions
