Hi all,

Some friends and I have started a car club in the Detroit area called Twisted Axle Car Club. We are an all makes and models club that focuses on classic and modified cars and trucks.

We have a large club house, with hoists, storage and lots of parking space for shows, events, etc. Soon we will have decals and shirts but we just got started. We will also be doing some car shows, poker runs, and meet and greets as well.

We just set up a facebook site last night. So check it out http://www.facebook.com/#!/TwistedAxleCarClub Maybe post what you are working on, your current ride or just something cool. We would appreciate it!!!

All are welcome to the facebook page even if you are not from detroit.

For the local people we are located at 15 and mound in sterling hts. and cruise around any time the weather is nice. Weekdays, weekends, whenever. We are also currently restoring some cars and are affiliated with several shops in the area.

Let me know if you have any questions or interest. Any type of feedback would also be appreciated.

here are some pics of my rides and the shop. It is packed right now for storage, but will be mostly empty in the summer.

The 72 scamp is in progress and almost done.

We hope to see some of you around town or on the web.

thank you

-mike

I'm over in Canada just across the river but I head to 15 and Utica all the time to hang out with friends.

I've just picked up a powdercoating sponsor local to us in Monroe, MI. Does amazing work and really loves the old cars. I'll update with pictures of the work he's done for me and will talk to him and see if he wants to get in on the ground floor with a new club....

Until then I can't wait to see if you guys get your own site, forum, etc.

thank you guys for the replies.

We just got our domain name today and will be setting up the website asap.

Yea the shop is 15k sq. ft and is super clean. We have lots of space in the summer. We also have a conference room up front. Looking forward to get some events going.

If you have the time post some pics of your rides or any projects you are working on. I would appreciate it. Lets get this thing rolling!!!! Spring is coming.

thanks again

Yes you are rlevs. Did you go to the facebook site? That way you can keep up with what is going on. Come on spring time!!!

We are just getting our ducks in a row but we should be much more organized by spring.

DOminatemopar the only thing i have right now is a beat up jeep but she has been put away wet many times and still come back for more. i am hopeing that one of these days to get it back in to the garage and start adding parts that are sitting in the garage. and yes i went over and liked the page on face book

I'm in Clawson. I unloaded a '64 Dart GT 18 months ago and am kicking myself for it. Also sold my '60 Studebaker Lark. I want back in with Mother Mopar!!!!!

Very nice guys. I think the club will be a great outlet for us to hang out and have fun. Spring is right around the corner.

Hi fellow Detroiters,

So spring is supposed to be here, but I am just not feeling it yet in the D. Too much damn rain. BUT, saturday the 27th is supposed to be nice!!!! With that being said TWISTED AXLE CAR CLUB would like to have a get together between 10am and 12 with a cruise afterwards. Nothing major for this meeting because the weather just hasn't been cooperating, allowing some of our members to roll their cars outside and finish some stuff up. We will definitely have a more formal get together later in June......The sun should be around by then....right? So if you have some time and want to get your ride on the road, maybe meet some people and talk classic and modified cars and trucks we will be at the shop, which is on Beattie street in sterling heights (15 mile and mound....off of 15 mile, east of mound). Sorry I don't remember the address but it is 3/4 of the way down on the right. I will post the address later after work. We also wanted to hold off a bit on a formal meet and greet because many of the stored vehicles just haven't left the shop due to the weather.

If you know anyone that wants to participate please let them know.

I will also try and send PM's to the people that sent me a pm.

thanks
mike

hey rrvolare. Thanks for the reply. If you can make it tomorrow that would be great. If not we will have other stuff going on throughout the year so there will be plenty of times to meet up.
