First full day with 'em.

Kind of like being able to see again. My prescription glasses got broke over the summer and just couldn't afford a new pair out of pocket, so I've been using readers.

Optical insurance kicked in a couple of weeks ago was finally able to update my prescription. I knew bi-focals were coming so when the doc gave me the option of "regular" and "readers" as a prescription deal I opted to just go bi-focals.

No line were an option, just not in the budget as far as the co-pays, so now I'm getting used to the line. Makes me want to clean my glasses when I see it.

But, boy is it ever nice to be able see clearly again! And to be able to write as well as read!

I have bi-focal contacts and they are nice no tilting of the head. Lol

I just got a backup set of bifocals with the lines and they made the line too low (had to tilt my head far back to read the iPad on my lap). I took them back to get new lenses (under warranty). I also have an expensive "no-line" pair of glasses ($450) and I don't like them. Except for being able to read at arms length which I can't do with the line bifocals, everything else is worse with the no-line pair. To read, I have to turn my head left to right for each line to keep it in focus. The portion of the no-line lense that will show an image completely in focus is very small and right in the center of the lense. If I look to either side, then the image is out of focus. The optometrist said this is normal. I don't like it.

Same here, I wear mine all the time when doing things that are too small to see. Don't need glasses, yet, for driving, shooting etc.

I usually get two pair at a time, one to keep at home and one to keep in my big truck. Otherwise I WILL forget them, lol.

Bruce, I'm with you on that. I have glasses that stay in the consoles of each of my vehicles, 1 set in the den, one on my office, one in the living room, one pair in the bedroom, and even one set in the master bathroom, lol!!!

When Joyce finds a pair of glasses, she usually just puts them on my desk, and let's me sort out which location is shy. lmao...

What is nice about bifocals for me at least is it keeps life simple, I wear them every waking moment, no chance to misplace them or forget them.

I've worn contac lenses for over 40 years. I have got reading glasses all over the place. Home, cars, office, you name it, I've probably got some there. Can't read without them.

I tried bifocals 5 years ago. I would get off the tractor, horse, whatever, take one step and fall flat on my face. I gave up on them.

I had multifocal implants when they did my Cataract surgery. A few years back. No more glasses period, and I had them since I was ten.

yep you need to be careful especially going down steps until you get used to bifocals or you will last step

Hey guys, I'm on my second pair of glasses. I only need them for reading, so I have bi-focals. I went in to an optometrist for my prescription and glasses. But my second pair I ordered from a website "Zenni Optical" dot com. The rimless, hingeless, titanium pair I got were only $112 delivered. They are around $5-$600 elsewhere.

So if you need an inexpensive replacement pair, you can get them there for as little as $19 delivered, depending on the style. They ship direct from the factory overseas. I saved about $400 on my pair
