Hi all,

I just moved to the North Myrtle Beach area (Longs) of South Carolina, and am wondering how many FABO members are in Horry County, SC, or Columbus, NC/Brunswick, NC within a couple hours of me. I'll be visiting people up in Wilmington once every month or so as well.

I've been looking for the right 1967-69 Barracuda to purchase for a couple years now, and while being in the midst of new move/new job/new everything isn't the ideal time to make a major purchase, I still would like to network and hopefully see some of you at a car show or cruise-in or even some more casual event at some point, even before I've been able to make that purchase.

Thanks.

Are you looking for a project? My nephew has a 67 or 68 cuda convertible he's thinking of selling. Originally a 273 automatic car. It has all the hard work done, new floor pan weeded in. Has a 340 for it as well. A bunch of new parts for it. He's in Chine Grove NC.

I don't want to commit a digital faux-pas and turn my Carolina networking thread into a wanted ad, but I won't ignore you either; I'm interested in a fastback, preferably '67. Either 383 or I'll have to get a 340 to put in. I don't want a full-blown project (rot and rust, floor pan replacement, etc) as I think the cost to restore the car outweighs the value of these particular cars so I'm better off spending more on something that's almost there. I've got a very good picture of it in my head which is both good and bad in that it narrows down what I want enough that I know what it'd take to get any car there, money-wise, but also makes the pool at any given time pretty small (PUN ALERT: not many fish swimming in that pond).

Like I said, I just moved and am getting myself set up, so I'm in no rush, so I'm not sweating it.

Anyway, thank you for sharing with me about your nephew's car, but I don't think it fits for me personally.

Side note- there are a lot of small cruise-in events around Myrtle Beach according to Facebook and while a lot of big events are in the spring, there's going to be a big show at "Broadway at the Beach" in October and I'm hoping to see some Abodies there.
