Sears NEVER manufactured tools. It was contracted out to companies that made tools. In order to make money Sears sold the Craftsman brand to Stanley/Black & Decker.
You can buy Craftsman tools pretty much everywhere.
And Stanley/Black&Decker took money out of the product. Craftsman is no longer the same quality.
 

not really a surprise.. business/stock holders want max profits and americans have proven they want a cheap price (disposable products) over quality...
 
my speed queen dryer ia year old and we have had the repairman out 3 times for it already.
Friend of mine works in Spokane (Spokamentro) for an appliance parts repair/ parts outfit. He claims there are no reliable appliances
 
Just got done "double checking" ---vacuum testing the C&D valve I got yesterday. I got to thinking that the female connector side (the system side) is the critical side. NOPE!!! IT LEAKS, likely at the ball valve shaft

That's 60 bucks if bought new sittin there
